MYLAPS BibTag system

MYLAPS Sports Technology (now owned by Garmin) and Track Shack Events are collaborating to bring MYLAPS’ BibTag technology to events in Orlando and across Florida.

Track Shack, which is based in Orlando, is an event management and timing company that oversees some of the state of Florida’s largest events.

In 2026, Track Shack will begin to implement MYLAPS’ BibTag timing technology across its event portfolio. BibTag technology uses lightweight chips that have a claimed 99.8% detection rate. The MYLAPS ThinTag is 75% thinner than regular timing tags, which reduces waste and shipping volume and also contributes to lowering carbon emissions.

Jon Hughes, co-owner at Track Shack Events, said “Our goal has always been to create meaningful and memorable race experiences for every participant. As our events continue to grow, collaborating with MYLAPS ensures we can deliver world-class timing to each event.”

Sean Reilly, Managing Director USA at MYLAPS, said “At MYLAPS, our goal is to deliver the ultimate sports experience for athletes, spectators, and events alike.

“It’s great to see the shared passion for sports with Track Shack, and we’re thrilled that they have selected our technology to provide best-in-class timing experiences for their events. We look forward to our collaboration in the years ahead.”
