    Sweden would shoot down Russian fighter jets if its airspace was violated, NATO’s newest member has said.

    “Sweden will defend its airspace,” Swedish Defense Minister Pål Jonson told the newspaper Aftonbladet.

    Newsweek has contacted the Russian Defense Ministry and NATO for comment.

  6. Good, that’s what Russia wants. So it can sell a total mobilsation to it’s public and overwhelm Ukraine.

    NATO reacting fine so far on the drone.
    If Russia keeps flying into you’re airspace , close the Baltic sea and search and check every ship going through it. That would destroy Russia oil export, just because of the delays.
    Give Ukraine some nice western missiles to hit more oil production infrastructure.

    What happened with Estonia wasn’t deemed a threat so they weren’t shot down.

  10. NATO just mentioned it, and Russia (presumably) immediately flew drones over the largest airports of two NATO members. Clearly showing ”we can hurt you economically as many times as we want”. It’s unfortunately really hard to respond to such attacks.

    Russia will keep probing and provoking with their jets, and any response from NATO will be met with silence and sabotage. If we shot a jet down it would lead to more such sabotage, but fewer overt incursions.
