The exact same bull shit that was said about what the Internet was going to do in the late 90s is being repeated verbatim about AI, except this time the bubble is ten times the size of the .com bubble.
Not OpenAI, but Google’s [AlphaFold](https://www.forbes.com/sites/robtoews/2021/10/03/alphafold-is-the-most-important-achievement-in-ai-ever/) is incredibly beneficial to scientific research. Definitely not a pyramid scheme. They gave the information away and open-sourced it.

What they never seem to explain is how this is going to affect, or “better” everyone’s lives, in a simple tangible explanation. I still need to wake up, shower, make coffee, get to work, raise my kids, grocery shop, etc. How does having my “own GPU” going to do any of that better?

Everyone knows this is a Cisco/nvda bubble and the problem is there just isn’t a better narrative to chase and people with too much money continue to want more. This’ll get rugged when either china makes its move on Taiwan, or one of the legs of this mag 7 table falls out because they cut back their AI cap ex.

AI seems to be helpful in a number of ways. The depth of its solutions needs work but that may be operator error. We will see, whether we want to or not.
These people aren’t operating on a higher plane than the rest of humanity; they just like to THINK they are.
Their stunning wealth gives them power beyond the imagining of yesterday’s kings but when they tell us we wouldn’t understand what they’re doing, that’s just bullshit, plain and simple. The grift continues. That’s all. They don’t want to explain their latest con because that’s all it is. If the rest of us hear about it too soon we’ll be on to their scam and they won’t stand to make as much money.
