(VEVAY, Ind.) – A state-of-the-art mobile medical clinic will serve all Switzerland County residents.
The Community Foundation of Switzerland County (CFSCI) was awarded a $467K grant in 2024 from the Lilly Endowment’s Giving Indiana Funds for Tomorrow initiative.
The grant was the culmination of two years of work that focused on the overall health and wellness of Switzerland County residents.
Project leaders identified transportation as a major barrier for many people who live in the county.
CFSCI proposed that the grant could go toward a mobile medical clinic which is owned and operated by INcompass Healthcare.
“Switzerland County’s mobile health clinic will provide a wide range of primary care services to all ages in the county including basic health assessments such as annual physicals, well-child visits, preventative screenings and check-ups to monitor overall health,” said CFSCI Executive Director Tye Sullivan.
The clinic will also provide flu, pneumonia and other immunizations, as well as chronic disease management, health education and treatment for minor injuries and illnesses.
“Point-of-care testing (POCT) will be provided for strep, flu, COVID, pregnancy and urine drug screens, and labs can be drawn to be sent out for testing. Referrals will be made for services such as medical specialties, mental health, substance abuse and medical imaging,” Sullivan added.
The mobile medical clinic is scheduled to be in Patriot on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Tuesday of each month and the 2nd and 4th Tuesday in East Enterprise.
More dates and locations will be announced in the future.

CFSCI has also committed $170,438 to an initiative called Live Well Switzerland County. This is CFSCI’s largest proactive initiative in the Foundation’s history.
The county-wide initiative was created with the belief that overall health is the utmost importance in the community.
“In sum, nearly $650,000 has been dedicated to this county-wide initiative. CFSCI refuses to accept being the lowest rated county in Indiana on health behaviors and health factors,” Sullivan added.
