Perfume, the group behind hits like “Polyrhythm,” will pause activities from 2026 following 16 consecutive appearances on NHK’s Kohaku Uta Gassen.

The popular female group Perfume announced on September 21 via their fan club website that they will be pausing activities at the end of 2025.
They said, “To capture this moment when we can proudly say we are ‘shining,’ we will put Perfume into cold sleep starting in 2026.”

Career Highlights
Perfume is a three-member group consisting of A-chan (Ayaka Nishiwaki), Kashiyuka (Yuka Kashino), and Nocchi (Ayano Omoto). Formed in Hiroshima in 1999, they made their major debut in 2005.
With hits such as “Polyrhythm,” they have enjoyed widespread popularity in Japan and abroad, appearing in the annual New Year’s Eve television special NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen for 16 consecutive years.
