  1. TLDR meeting today no details yet. Possibly an Arab coalition to take over Gaza and transition it to the PA, something that Israel might opposite (The PA part).

  2. I imagine the countries responsible for the vague “Arab funding” will reject this idea.

I do like the script-flip of saying, “hey, you other countries in the area need to step in and help moderate this”.

  3. Honestly, why is the US proposing this at all and not Israel.

As an Israeli, I hate Bibi and his (lack of) diplomatic and political leadership.

Israel should have been ahead of this two years ago, Israel should have already had a plan for post-war Gaza, strategic goals, international diplomatic strategies…

But alas, this is all we’re left with, a war with no end in sight and a lack of an Israeli strategy or goal other than, apparently, recapturing Gaza; which strictly strategic wise, might not be a terrible idea only if it wasn’t for the two million Palestinians living there – they guarantee Israel can’t recapture/annex the Gaza Strip at least not without significant repercussions. If the Gaza Strip was empty (and not by forcing the current population out) no one would have cared.
