  4. I hope the rest of the world sees this speech, and decides to move on to support initiatives without the US. Don’t stop protesting the Israeli War, recognize a Palistine State, support Ukraine through arms, send kids to college to research bio/medical/environment research. And do it without America. We have chosen dementia over a democrat….

  11. I know what the UK told its representative to the UN before this speech, and I’ve got a sneaking suspicion every other country said something similar. Basically ignore what trump says.

  15. I think it was a useful event for the world to see. Americans are already aclimatized to him. Canadians to a lesser extent.

    I am not so sure how much the UN is a vehicle for dialogue now but I think it should not be headquartered in the US. Trump does not care about it or really any international organization.

  18. For a stark juxtaposition, look up Canadian PM Mark Carney’s sit down with the Council on Foreign Relations in NY yesterday. Someone who knows what they are talking about vs someone who clearly does not.

  20. I love that his griping about the escalator (which was probably turned off by a maintenance worker with a sense of humor) is now part of history.

    On a related note, he spent about three minutes whining and doing an “I told you so” over losing the bid to renovate the UN building. He [testified before a Senate committee 20 years ago](https://www.c-span.org/clip/senate-committee/user-clip-donald-trump-2005-un-testimony/4529229) for a half hour about how awesome he is at construction and how dumb everyone else is, but (shock) lost the bid. In the middle of his testimony he took a minute to talk about how amazing asbestos is, and “If the WTC had asbestos it wouldn’t have burned down, it wouldn’t have melted.”

Makes you wonder if they have ever actually listened to a real sermon in their life or even cracked open their scriptures.
