Meghan Markle’s former best friend has reportedly turned down a lucrative offer of over $1 million (£740,000) for a memoir deal that would reveal the details of their falling out.
Jessica Mulroney, 45, was once very close with the Duchess of Sussex, 44, until her views on the Black Lives Matter movement in 2020 led to a rift in their friendship and eventually resulted in the cancellation of her TV show “I do, Redo”.
Despite having the opportunity to share her side of the story through a memoir, Jessica has stated to reporters that she will “never” disclose what transpired between her and Meghan, who she served as a bridesmaid for in May 2018. The news emerges as Meghan Markle confession lands her surprise radio show offer.

The mother-of-three, known for her guest appearances as a fashion expert on shows like Good Morning America, is cautious of appearing “petty and bitter” amidst the ongoing feud, according to sources.
An insider shared: “I suspect Jessica is not sure what to do [with what she knows]. Meghan is still pretty powerful and they have a lot of people in common. She is probably biding her time. She lost her career but to come after Meghan could be perceived as being petty and bitter and could potentially alienate her even more.”, reports the Mirror.
Jessica and Meghan first crossed paths in Toronto, Canada, while the future duchess was shooting Suits. The pair forged a tight bond and, according to the Daily Mail, Jessica played a crucial role in keeping Meghan’s secret romance with a prince under wraps.
However, their friendship crumbled following a Black Lives Matter controversy, despite Jessica serving as a bridesmaid at the Royal wedding, and the fallout has damaged Jessica’s professional prospects in recent years. The source added: “She was upset their friendship ended. Jessica knows where the bodies are buried. Meghan will be worried.”
Nevertheless, Jessica is expected to steer clear of any scandalous revelations should she proceed with the book agreement. Similarly, Jessica received no mention in Harry’s memoir Spare, which hit shelves in January 2023.
However, publishing industry insiders reportedly have enormous interest in Jessica’s perspective.
“Jessica’s explosive story is the one publishers want to get their hands on. She could command up to a seven-figure dollar sum depending on what she is prepared to say,” a source told the Mirror recently.
Jessica, who was raised in Westmount, Canada, was also excluded from participating in the Duchess’s latest venture – With Love, Meghan, while others in her inner circle were included. The former friends also don’t follow each other on social media platforms.
