  1. ‘Quick we’re putting out a new list – which neighbourhoods haven’t we used before?’

  2. They added Madrid’s “Carabanchel” some years ago.

It is just a list for predatory investors to get their hands on entire streets and price out all the residents, close all the markets and replace them with “Organic” shops and “barista” coffees.

  3. It was Kings Cross last year or before which was an absolute joke of course

Camberwell is actually kinda nice and it’s highly multi-cultural, which is interesting at least. Biggest downside is no tube station

  4. And guess where the Time Out editor lives. You guessed it.

Now why would they want to promote Camberwell? Inflate house prices in the area before selling, maybe?

  5. why is this surprising? it has an art school lol. loads of young cool people chill + live there

  6. it has an art college – it must be cool !!
you uncultured philstines wouldn’t unnerstan,. innit blud

  7. It was over once it was revealed that Carrie Johnson lived there tbh

  8. I take it people are visiting the monument to that greatest invention, the Camberwell carrot?

  9. Chicagoan here: Avondale is also a completely random neighborhood. Not the worst, not the best….just not worthy of this list.

  10. they ran out of boroughs to put in these lists after years of camden, then shoreditch, then marylebone, then greenwich, then crystal palace, then hackney, so they had to scrape whatever was left

  11. camberwell is, and has always been (well at least since 1982 when i was born), the second coolest place in the world after walworth

  12. They always toss in some rando London place

It was Tooting last year, wasn’t it

  13. Don’t worry they won’t go anywhere that’s only reachable by bus.

  14. Nothing wrong with Vallila, but what on earth was the criteria here?

  15. Half the districts in Chengdu are cooler than Camberwell, so I guess the writer or someone they asked lives there

  16. Mullae-dong is a few hipster coffee and tat shops in a vast sea of apartment complexes, quite near a red light district that’s run by the Seoul mob. Baffling choice.

  17. That’s pretty random ngl. I support the theory the editor lives in Camberwell and wants to sell soon 😂

  18. It’s wild how these lists just cycle through random neighbourhoods that even most locals have barely heard of. They’re clearly just scraping the bottom of the barrel for “new” content. I can already picture the confused tourists wandering around looking for something that isn’t there. It’s a rite of passage at this point.

  19. As a Camberwell native, I am deceased

(One of the Camberwell Crazies got me)

  20. I think they got Camberwell confused with Camden and 2025 confused with 1995.

  21. Subjectively, I think Camberwell is really cool and has been my favourite place I’ve lived as a born and bred Londoner. But honestly, it seems really random that they had picked there of all places.

  22. I dunno, why would I do Camberwell when I can go to (consults list) Accra?

  23. I once saw someone steal from a homeless man in Camberwell

  24. I think they mean Clerkenwell which was voted a top borough last year. Deserved, good place.
