  2. ‘lost the plot’ they haven’t ‘lost the plot’. The problem is ‘the plot of land has a mansion with several acres and has high walls, to stop plebs’

  3. Is this not their plan though? The rich getting richer certainly was and that has happened, with several new billionaires created throughout the pandemic. If this was not the second part of their plan, it is a consequence they are fine with. A desperate population is one they will have an easier time of controlling, why would they not want that? Some MPs, such as Liz Truss or Nadine Dorries, are incompetent but plenty are savvy enough to know what they are doing. They are not doing anything to help us on purpose and are fine with the consequences of that.

  4. No, their plot is that they and theirs get richer and stay in power, everyone else pays for it.

  5. Public: so what’s your plan to combat historic rises in the cost of living?
Government: we’ll save you fifty quid a year on your MOT (that you’ll pay back many times over when your car breaks down more frequently), and those of you with crotch goblins will benefit from cheaper childcare as a result of more children going missing from a worse service. Those of you childless will need to buy a fourth car to benefit. Now fuck off, plebs, we’ve got a party to go to. Let’s see how many to get Angela to flash her fanny again.

  6. This government is loving it. High inflation is the best way to get rid of some national debt, which no doubt they will be boasting about come the next GE, even though it doesn’t affect most of us directly.

  7. Of course they lost the plot, hazing at University was burning £50 notes infront of a homeless persons face, they can abuse tax loopholes that 99% of the country wouldn’t be able to use and Sunak pays a monthly energy bill for his hot tub or some such bollocks that totals over half the UK’s average wage per annum.

also calling it a cost of living is an insult so those of us struggling to survive.

  8. They will never get the ‘plot’ because they claim everything on expenses and therefore have no actual ‘cost of living’. Their entire salary is disposable income so they have no clue what it’s like for normal people.

  9. A bunch of rich people who’ve never worried about money in their life and wouldn’t notice if they lost £1000, don’t know how to help normal people on minimum wage?

    Well, colour me surprised

But they haven’t lost the plot, they’re just rich, out of touch, and don’t give a shit

  10. Wow, I can’t believe a bunch of people raised from wealth don’t understand the cost of living crisis.

These people have such insane amounts of money, and always have done, they just have no idea what reality is like for 30+ million in this country

  11. Well I just got my pay into my bank, despite a so called pay rise of £1500 before tax which I honestly found insulting to begin with… the actual amount my salary went up by was £41 a month after tax a grand total of less than £500 per year. Basically a pay cut due to inflation, and I’m one of the lucky ones!

I have not been on my work computer to work it all out but I’d imagine that tax rise has eaten quite a lot of it, all to pay for Tory corruption.

I fucking hate this government more than any other in my lifetime and I’ve hated em all, fuck these cunts into the depths of hell with burning tree sized dildos up the backside and something made of smashed glass into the front hole. Fucking twats man.

  12. I have the feeling that protests this summer are going to be lit. Does anybody remember the poll tax riots that got Thatcher fired? The only way any of this crap is going to change is if the rich cunts are scared. How to scare rich cunts? Protest in large numbers.

  13. As I say on every thread like this- any suggestions on what to do? We seem to be moaning a lot and not doing anything…

  14. So an MOT for a car is about £55, that makes sure your can is road worthy and often finds faults that needs addressing before they become big problems or a brake down. I feel this would create vastly more costly problems than it would save. You know what would make a difference forcing petrol stations to be only able to make X amount of profit on fuel so when they introduced their 5p tax cut or what ever it was, it didn’t get immediately swallowed up

  15. I can’t wait for someone on here to shout me down and tell me why I just don’t get the Tories grand plan.

  16. Don’t think any politicians are there to help. No matter whoever it is they always seem to make things worse as they enjoy our taxes and then “book deals” or whatever. We need a hostile takeover. A mutiny or adunno good one fashioned lynching no joke.

  17. There’s going to be violent riots come winter. I wouldn’t be surprised if someone assassinates Bawjaws.

  18. Not sure about the fracking but yes the coal is there and even if they don’t go for it yet , you can bet that it will become popular again soon enough. When we don’t have the ability to heat and light our homes or power our industry then what’s poo posed today will be ok .

  19. You need a household income of less than £30k to benefit from a green homes grant (a new front door is one of their “amazing” offerings) in Lancashire. Next year the average annual heating bill is expected to hit £3,000 a year. So if you’re earning £31k between the two of you (we’re on £35k), you get nothing towards insulation or generation packages when a full 10% of your income is needed to stay warm.

I read recently that Italy has spent €17 billion on grants for home insulation and generating to tackle their carbon footprint.

What’s most frustrating is that the mild English climate would mean that a little spend would go a long way. But they can’t even be bothered investing their way out of it. They’re just looking at easy ways for corporations to make even more money from the old, cold housing stock that we inherited from previous generations.

  20. This government was established with one agenda – Get Brexit Done. Anyone who was against that idea was jettisoned from the party. Johnson didn’t want any capable of critical or independent thought on the Tory benches, he just wanted sycophants who would vote through his oven ready deal.

We were told that £350 million a week would go into the NHS as a result of Brexit. Instead, our National Insurance contributions have gone up to pay for Health & Social Care.

The Tories have a history of over-promising and under-delivering on things that they actually care about. Who in their right mind would expect them to be competent in dealing with criseses that are only affecting the plebs?

  21. Tories need their heads checking. They removed taxes when times were good, and upped them when times are bad. I can’t get over it.

In what world, does that make sense?

  22. Lost it? They never had it in the first place, most of them are rich fucks who have never been worried about poverty.

  23. “Lost the plot” but this is the plot. Yes their proposed solutions are targeted at their voting base, because remaining in power is their only concern.

If you are a low income family & you voted Tory then you really have no clue who these people are.

  24. My hope is that something changes in the next few months so I don’t have to sell my house so i can keep fuelling my car and continue to go to work even though i don’t earn enough to actually live. Gonna have to drill a few new holes into my belt so i can pull it even tighter.

  25. The insane cost of living could be solved if housing was cheaper!
Mortgages/rents taking up 80-90% of income.
I don’t know why nobody is addressing the issue.

  26. And they’d still be voted back in by little Englanders so the gov don’t have anything to worry about regardless of how many people suffer

  27. They just don’t give a shit. They can claim their food and now, bills on their expenses. They earn over 80k per year plus 150k on fucking expenses. To them, an issue is having to work or figuring out how to rip off the taxpayer. Meanwhile, most of the country is one step away from being broke or are broke. Work’s slow for me at the moment and if I was in a flat, I would be fucked.
