A tragic death, but an inevitable consequence of the lack of policing in Dublin. People will only tolerate so much before taking matters into their own hands, for good or for ill…
Poor bugger hasn’t a chance.
I suppose the jury are all Dubs.?
I had a GF who lived in East Wall, walking to hers, or back to grab the bus, is rough. In one week alone I had I two Stanley’s pulled on me…it’s a cesspool of degenerates…but with no policing, it’s always going to be. Guards aren’t gonna bother their rocks to do jack shit there. But they cross the bridge towards FB building? They’ll send the fucking ARW.

I read through that and it seems like a mess.
From what I gather there were like four parties there, the delivery drivers, the guy trying to steal the bike, the teenagers who intervened at first (and the kid who died was among them), and then finally the last group who intervened after the kid was killed.
The only thing I’m taking away from this at face value is that lawlessness has gotten so bad in Dublin, and gardai presence and enforcement of the law so bad that people feel the need to arm themselves to stop the scum from harming them. Sad state of affairs when people feel that is necessary, although I wouldn’t blame them all the same.
Why is the identity if the man on the moped irrelevant when one of the charges against him is for pulling a knife on said person.
Feels like the prosecution is trying to keep something quite.
Gonna be very very very interesting to see what the jury and judge decide.
Considering the racist jury couldn’t give a murder charge on that the kid who stabbed the Mongolian woman to death
If its decided that the youths who originally tried to steal the bike are found and charged as accessories to murder and the deliveroo guy is given a fine or non conviction sentence there could be a recovery.
HOWEVER if everything is blamed on the Deliveroo cyclist at a time where inner city scrotes where harrassing and driving over Deliveroo cyclists and he gets big jail time considering the mongolian woman and real scumbags with 200 convictions free out assaulting members of the public then with everything else going on with Inflation, Ukraine ref, Housing,
I think a huge riot is bubbling
Edit: Also we will have to see if the poor delivery driver is put in jail what his sentence is compared to Youssef Pallani
Edit 2: The Guards, Justice System and FF/FG have washed their hands clean of the anti social problems in ireland and held no accountability for years on the soft approach to crime and ultimately this lies death is on the hands of the corrupt snobs
Josh was an Angle but der woz no faciliteez in da community in Ballymun so he had to go to East Wall to get into de community vibe an rob Deliverroo drivers. Itz a disgrace. Der shud be Drliverroo drivers in Ballymun to rob n anywayz. RIP in piece Josh
The Brazilian deliveroo drivers are just normal people working a job to pay the bills, the absolute cunts who try and rob/attack them have themselves to blame for what happens. I’m not sure about the situation with Josh’s death but if the guy robbing the moped was stabbed I couldn’t give two shits what happens to him tbh, he can choke on his own blood for all I care and society would be better off without him.
Any link to the cctv footage?
It’s ironic because I’ve lost count of the amount of times I’ve been left short of cutlery by just eat drivers.
In all seriousness though it shows the dangers of carrying a knife for protection. These delivery drivers obviously operate in some rough areas alone, I’ve seen them have to use bike locks and chains in disputes with groups before.
Having said that I bet that poor man in Incecore that was chased, attacked and set alight with petrol doused on him wishes he had been carrying a knife to try keep the scumbags back from him.
The big question that needs to be answered for me is: why did the victim and his friends become involved? Either:
A. They saw the Deliveroo driver brandishing a knife at the man on the moped, and presumed he was stealing the push-bike from the man on the moped, so they intervened to protect the man on the moped.
B. They saw a scuffle occurring between Deliveroo drivers and the man on the moped, and decided to kick the shit out of the Deliveroo drivers. Why, I don’t know, but there certainly seems to be a strong anti-delivery driver sentiment in many parts of Dublin, and there are plenty of news articles documenting assaults on delivery drivers.
A. seems unlikely because:
When encountering two Deliveroo drivers forcefully taking a push-bike from a man on a moped, surely one’s first assumption would be that they were foiling an attempted theft by the man on the moped, not that they themselves were committing the theft. If the Deliveroo drivers had already recovered the bike, albeit forcefully and after brandishing a knife, the altercation was effectively over and there was no need to get involved.

I haven’t seen the cctv footage, but from what’s written in the article, the “benevolent intervention” argument on behalf of the victim and his friends doesnt stack up, and self-defence seems reasonable.
Deliveroo man went full Charles Bronson and given the amount of shit they have to put up with I can hardly blame him. Will be interesting to see how the court case plays out.
