  5. I am writing this as a Turkish secular, a long standing citizen against Erdogan, the only reason he got this much power is because of EU and Qatar. I can’t blame the US because they pulled back their support around 2014. Ofcourse %35 of the country and our lovely oxymoron German diaspora who kept voting for him no matter what is to blame as well but he would never be able to make it this far without EU and Qatar.

  6. He is in jail because of corruption charges that are pretty much grave and legitimate in my opinion. Not everyone who gets jailed can cry about democracy.

Turkey historically arrested kurdish polotician, mayor’s, musicians and just framed them as terrorists or terrorists supporters but now it’s happening to one of their party’s they call it unfair and oppression. On top of this every time I come to this sub u see pure propeganda. pretending that this is a leftist progressive democratic party when such a thing doesn’t exist in turkey its ultra nationalist or Islamisten that’s it.
