Prince Harry has shut down a huge rumour about his and wife Meghan’s plans for son Archie.

Speculation intensified about exactly where the US-based royals would send their first born to school after Harry’s recent visit to the UK, with reports they were contemplating a move back to his homeland.

It was reported by the Daily Beast that six-year-old Archie had been registered to attend one of the most elite school’s in the world — and Harry’s alma mater — Eton College.

But a spokesman for the royals told People that was not the case.

“I can confirm that the Duke has not put his son’s name down for Eton and has no plans to send his son there,” the spokesperson said.

Eton has educated many prominent figures, including 20 British prime ministers, princes William and Harry and celebrities Tom Hiddleston, Eddie Redmayne and Damien Lewis.

Prince William’s son George, who currently attends Lambrook School, is expected to start there next year, although there has been no royal confirmation.

George turns 13 next year, which is when Eton typically enrols new students.

Rumours had been swirling about whether his cousin Archie would eventually join him and possibly Louis there.

It was reported by The Daily Mail that during Harry’s recent trip to the UK when he met with his estranged father that he had shared with the king his plans to educate his children in the UK.

A conversation the Prince had with singer Joss Stone at the WellChild Awards also seemed to hint at his plans. Stone said Harry, she recounted him saying “how wonderful the schools are here (in the UK) and how important community is for children.”

Harry and Meghan are raising their children Archie and daughter Lilibet, 4, in California after stepping back from royal duties in 2020.
