Labour planned to discriminate against Senedd candidates who wanted to write to party members in Welsh

  1. Labour the party of the establishment is a sad state of affairs

  2. That ‘red Welsh way’ isn’t looking very red or very Welsh these days…

  3. Hang on- before we go full *Cofiwch Dryweryn* on Welsh Labour, this looks less like some grand conspiracy and more like a lazy attempt at keeping things “fair.” It reads like someone trying to make sure all the pitches were the same length in the simplest way possible, and that nobody doubled their word count by submitting two versions. Once it was pointed out, they fixed it straight away. Still, it’s a stupid own goal in an election they’re already trailing in- but hardly something deliberately sinister.

  4. >Would-be Labour candidates for next year’s Senedd election were told their messages to the party’s members could only be half as long if they insisted on having a statement in Welsh as well as in English, we can reveal.

So basically because there was a word limit, if you wanted to use both languages you had to make the message shorter.

That’s not discrimination. That’s basic typesetting.

  5. So one random Welsh Labour Party official = all of Welsh Labour, and look now everyone’s getting mad at ghosts and ideas again.

  6. You lot should declare UDI

    Close the border

and ban English from being used by any government communication
