    I am unsure which is more disturbing; That they allowed Russian vessels to still use the canal, or that they knowingly allowed unsafe vessels to use the canal.

      Cut them off from the civilized world and let them rot until they behave.

  6. I’m going to say that the vessels that are not seaworthy are still flagged, but will be unable to sail in the future, with the removal of their flag.

  8. So Russia just registers them in to a different country. It’s not like they revoked the ships, themselves.

    You can’t get insurance on an unregistered vessel and no one will risk shipping without insurance
