Irish department refuses permission for pro-Russia rally in Dublin

  1. Because the organisers failed to respond to the OPW’s request for a signed indemnity form, safety management plan and insurance details.

Sounds like a half baked plan that some eejit came up with but hadn’t actually done any of the legwork needed to make it work.

  2. Why on earth would there be a car rally in Dublin to celebrate Russia’s end to WW2, for what I’m assuming would be the first time ever?

  3. It appears this rally is rather close to the American ambassador’s residence in Phoenix Park so there is the real reason a bunch of Russian nationalists want to wave flags there.

  4. You could just imagine the amount of Irish Anti-maskers and Anti-vaxers that would have turned up who have now turned their attention to being pro Russia. Because they are a bunch of Edgelords.

  5. If they still meet they should be named, shamed, loose their jobs/benefits. Send back to Russia if they love Putin so much.

  6. Proud to be absolute cunts, that’s the game these days, social media has given them delusions of grandeur. I know what I’ll be doing if I see any such bollocks going on.

  7. They were trying to organise it in recognition of Victory Day when the soviets defeated the nazis. This is peak fash being sneaky. They would appropriate a victory of communism to show support for a modern fascist state.

  8. Careful OP, the pro-Russian redditors on /r/ireland are going to get upset with you. I can think of one Halloween themed user who’s had their weekend ruined with this news.

  9. It’s a celebration of the end of WW2 and they do it every year. This headline is irresponsible. There are not that many Russians in Ireland in favour of this war, but all of them are proud of defeating Germany as they should be.
