In the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, Russian authorities are imposing new restrictions on schoolchildren by inspecting their phones to block access to independent sources of information.

This was reported by the National Resistance Center via Telegram on September 24.

According to the Center, schools are witnessing fresh cases of interference in children’s personal lives. Under the guise of “ensuring safety” and blaming alleged parental mistakes, occupation officials have begun systematic checks of students’ devices.

Eyewitnesses note that particular attention is given to installed applications. The occupiers are especially focused on detecting YouTube, Spotify, and VPN services, aiming to strip children of access to uncensored information and modern content outside Russia’s control.

Meanwhile, in the temporarily occupied Luhansk region, Russian forces are systematically preparing local children for future mobilization into the occupying army, the National Resistance Center reported on August 12. In Stanytsia Luhanska, fighters from Russia’s National Guard (Rosgvardiya) together with activists from the Kremlin’s ruling United Russia party staged a so-called “training session” for members of the local “Ataman” football club, presenting it as part of National Sports Day celebrations.

According to the report, children were compelled to perform strength and endurance drills, practice hand-to-hand combat, and repeat maneuvers used by special forces. The Center stressed that these actions are part of Russia’s deliberate policy to militarize Ukrainian youth in the occupied territories.

Earlier, it was reported that Russia started drafting Ukrainian children—many of them abducted from the occupied territories—into its armed forces once they reach the age of 18.
