Meghan Markle isn’t exactly the darling of the Royal Family, as per YouGov’s latest data.
Given her public criticisms of beloved members of the monarchy, it may not shock many that only 21% of those polled view the former “Suits” actress positively.
However, she ranks fifth from the bottom in terms of popularity among the royals. The future Queen, Kate Middleton, holds the top spot with a 72% approval rating.
Prince William follows closely at 71%, with Princess Anne third at 59%.
According to YouGov, Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, is next with 54%, and King Charles is fifth with 53%. Zara Tindall is sixth with 52%, while Queen Camilla is ninth with 37%.
But who ranks lower than Meghan on this list?
Prince Richard, Duke of Gloucester, is fourth from the bottom with a 15% approval rating. Unlike Meghan, whose ‘dislike’ rating stands at 59%, Prince Richard’s is just 13%.
He was the second son born to Prince Henry and Princess Alice, Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, and was never directly in line for the title.
His older brother, Prince William of Gloucester, was expected to succeed their father, but his untimely death in a plane crash in 1972 thrust Prince Richard into the limelight.
He is married to Birgitte, Duchess of Gloucester, and they have three children: Alexander, Earl of Ulster, Lady Davina Windsor, and Lady Rose Gilman.

Birgitte, the Duchess of Gloucester, only managed to win over 14% of respondents, landing her third from the bottom. However, her ‘dislike’ rating is relatively low at just 4%.
Birgitte Eva van Deurs Henriksen, born June 20, 1946, is a Danish-born member of the British Royal family.
Lady Margarita Armstrong-Jones didn’t fare much better, with a positivity rating of just 12%, placing her second from the bottom. However, only 8% of respondents expressed dislike for her.
Lady Margarita, born on May 14, 2002, at the Portland Hospital in London, is the youngest child of David, Earl of Snowdon and his ex-wife, Serena, Countess of Snowdon.
Named after her grandmother, Princess Margaret, she is often seen at large-scale Royal events and served as a bridesmaid at the Prince and Princess of Wales’ wedding in 2011.
A mere 9% of respondents favored Prince Andrew, the former Duke of York, while a staggering 77% expressed their dislike for him.
His association with convicted pedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell has severely tarnished his reputation.
Following backlash for his ties with Epstein, Andrew withdrew from public duties in 2020. The late Queen stripped his honorary military affiliations and Royal charitable patronages in January 2022.
