Fear over high rates of diabetes foot amputations

  1. Perhaps we can repurpose the feet as tinned meat for food banks? And if the patient dies during the amputation we could recycle them into tyres for our cars.

  2. Probably C19 related. Before the downvote bandits come at me there are studies to suggest such people are more vulnerable than others.

  3. An acquaintance of ours living in France recently buried his mother, a diabetic who contacted gangrene and who refused amputation. In my family, my (diabetic) grandfather passed away years ago following a foot infection having nicked his toe while trimming his nails with a straight razor – he was an old Glaswegian-. First they amputated the foot, then below the knee, then at the hip, then…
