US law enforcement officers flood the scene of a shooting at an ICE immigration facility in Dallas, Texas. Federal officials fear it’s the latest example of politically motivated violence in the US. I I feel that it was a definite targeted attack on ICE facility. You don’t shoot out the windows. You just don’t shoot at the random vehicles. You don’t pick that location um a specific spot in Dallas just to make a statement. You know, when you have anti-ICE rhetoric written on the bullets, you know who they’re targeting. The 29-year-old shooter opened fire on the ICE facility from the roof of a nearby building at around 6:40 in the morning, local time, striking a van holding detaineees, before taking his own life. The incident comes at a tense moment for the United States following the assassination of political influencer Charlie Kirk, preceded by a series of examples of politically motivated violence, targeting both Republicans and Democrats. The Dallas attack was a third shooting at an immigration facility in Texas in recent months. The vice president has blamed the incident on anti-ICE sentiment. They were politically motivated to go after people who are enforcing our border. And I think that is the most disgusting thing. The very people who keep us safe ought to be honored and protected and praised by Democrats and Republicans alike. It is time to stop the rhetorical assault on law enforcement. ICE officers are tasked with enforcing Trump’s signature crackdown on illegal immigration, but their methods, including searching for migrants to arrest in their place of work or at courtmandated appointments, have proved widely unpopular. One recent poll by NPR and CBS showed 54% of Americans thought ICE had quote gone too far.
