Wow. “The commemoration of the war is not allowed to remind you of war”
What kind of thinking is that
I think I can understand this given the context of Germany’s role in WWII and likely wanting to focus in the victims of that war (the people they tried to exterminate).
I can’t blame Berlin for this. Riots are ugly.
So nazi russians will bring red flags which they use on temporarily occupied territories

Germany…
>“The war must not be allowed to spill over into conflicts or disputes in Berlin beyond the democratic discourse.”
“convicted rapist of children must not be ridiculed on public”

Bizarre for “newer again” country.
But totally understandable for rf ally
ban soviet memorials in germany when
>For example, the 12-meter-tall Soviet War Memorial in the eastern borough of Treptow shows a Soviet soldier breaking a swastika with his sword. Such monuments are expected to be popular gathering points this weekend for those who condemn the current war and those who defend it.

To give you an impression what it looks like:

you’d think those commemorations aim to teach us something useful for the present, but alas, not in germany
Yeah, like that’s going to stop the Russian fifth column.
