More famous than the All Priests Over 75s Cup? Really?
This is the kind of thinking that has had this afternoon already at 11 in the morning.
But does it look like him? /s

That town would be seriously upgraded if they just put down some cobble stones, and removed the cars.
Can I just say that the Sam Maguire is an awesome trophy in its own right! A chalice style but with a bold excess in size to reflect the vastness of the achievement.
I also love the historical nod to similar artefacts found throughout the country, using matials found in those same artefacts.
For 1938 this was an extremely early sign of a deep sense of culture being reflected so thoughtfully in a winners trophy. It’s a credit to those who designed it, and grasped and executed the concept so well.
Nice statue, shame about the plinth.
Make it flush, seal off that tiny gap.. those corners are sharp.
A bit of character in the stone would have been nice.
