Stop making London wide decisions on a borough by borough basis.
This is actually good news. Like bikes are way too expensive unless you bundle and even then still nuts. Literally at times a cab would be cheaper.
So £1.75 cap, of which a % goes to the council… I’m not sure how expanding this would be at all sustainable for Lime and co.
Ok… but won’t Lime now just essentially start putting way less bikes in Hackney and put them in more profitable areas?
Forest do a flat £1 for 30 minutes if you pick up specific bikes in app (as a way to prevent overcrowding), which is actually an even better deal than this, and isn’t based on borough lines
When did Hackney become a command economy?
They will start introducing Ticketmaster style fees to charge you more on the side. Forest just introduced a daily service fee of £1.50 and they have a parking fee of £1, so their “free” 10 minutes is actually £2.50
