  1. the kind of battle that probably every Romanian knows while in Hungary it’s a footnote at best

    Charles I was in general not good when it came to fighting outside his kingdom (though suprisingly, he did a great job at breaking the oligarchs in-kingdom), he is better known for his diplomacy and ensuring economic development, which laid the foundation for his son Louis who had an awesome miliary tract record – he also re-submitted Wallachia among many others – and ruled over possibly the largest territorial extent a Hungarian king ever had (not counting Habsburgs)
