Prince William reportedly views his uncle, Prince Andrew, as a “direct threat” and isn’t happy with how his father is dealing with the situation.

Andrew, 65, has been embroiled in scandal over the last few years, and if reports are to be believed, it seems as though Prince William has had enough.

At the Duchess of Kent’s funeral service last week, one royal expert reckoned William “pulled rank” with Andrew following his “crass” behaviour.

Prince William sees Prince Andrew as a ‘direct threat’

William, 43, and other royals reportedly see King Charles keeping Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, in and around the royal fold as “frankly stupid”.

The claims come just days after it emerged that Sarah, 65, had sent Jeffrey Epstein an email just weeks after publicly vowing to cut the convicted sex offender out of her life in 2011.

However, a spokesperson for the duchess said the email was sent under duress. They said that Epstein had “threatened to sue her for defamation for associating him with paedophilia”.

Now, speaking to ShuterScoop, a royal source allegedly said: “Charles thinks keeping Andrew and Fergie close somehow protects the family. But to everyone else, it looks reckless, naïve, and frankly stupid. The scandals around those two never end.”

He knows the public has no appetite for Andrew or Fergie being anywhere near the royal stage.

The source then continued, claiming William is “focused on the crown’s future”.

They alleged: “He knows the public has no appetite for Andrew or Fergie being anywhere near the royal stage. He sees this as a direct threat.”

The source then continued, reportedly claiming: “It’s a generational divide. William wants a clean break. Charles can’t let go. And unless he does, the monarchy risks going down with Andrew and Fergie.”

Prince William ‘pulled rank’ on Prince Andrew

Reports of Prince William’s unhappiness with his uncle come just days after he “pulled rank” on the Duke of York.

Both royals were at the funeral for the Duchess of Kent last week. After the funeral, as the royals stood on the steps of Westminster Cathedral, Andrew was seen trying to engage his nephew in conversation. However, William didn’t really seem interested in having one.

William’s lack of response says a lot about their relationship, according to royal expert Jennie Bond. She claims William “pulled rank” with Andrew at the service.

“William finds his uncle an embarrassment to the monarchy. I think it was an illustration of the fact that when William has made up his mind about something, he sticks to it,” she told the Mirror.

She continued, claiming: “I think the body language proved that William is the top dog in this relationship: a future king who outranks his uncle. Andrew has demonstrated time and again that he is bizarrely oblivious to how toxic he now is.

“It was crass of him to try to get some banter going – especially at such a sad occasion and when the cameras were quite clearly on him and William. Andrew’s big brother and his other siblings tolerate him, but William is a different generation with a different outlook.”

William ‘urging his father to act’

It was also reported earlier this week that the king, 76, and his eldest son, William, were at odds over what to do with Andrew and Fergie.

“William feels even more strongly than The King that Andrew and Fergie are an embarrassment and will be urging his father to act. The optics of that pair of chancers guffawing away [at events] look terrible,” a source told the Daily Mail.

“The King doesn’t want to cut ties with his brother, former sister-in-law and that side of the family. The late Queen, conscious that Fergie was the mother of her granddaughters, always took that view.”

However, they speculated that Charles may “ban” the former couple from big royal appearances, such as the annual Christmas Day walkabout.

“He may also finally evict them from Royal Lodge, their Windsor mansion, which William is said to be demanding as a minimum,” the source added.
