Denmark reports second wave of drone-related airport disruptions • FRANCE 24 English

An unidentified flying object of decidedly terrestrial origin lights up the night sky over Alborg airport in northern Denmark, forcing several flights to be diverted as the airport, which also serves as a Danish Air Force base, was shut down for hours. Similar incidents were reported at three other smaller Danish airports in the country’s south, though they were able to remain open. Speaking to France 24 just hours earlier, French President Emanuel Macron called for a stronger response to incursions into European airspace, calling out Russia specifically. We must strengthen our posture by committing more resources. If there are new provocations, we should escalate our response as it would mean that Russia has chosen to escalate. The security of Europe is at stake. Europe is on edge after NATO members Poland, Romania, and Estonia all accused Russia of violating their airspace with drones or fighter jets in recent days. Moscow has denied responsibility. Wednesday’s incidents marked the second time this week that unauthorized drone activity has disrupted traffic at Scandinavian airports. On Monday, the airports of Copenhagen and Oslo were paralyzed for hours after large drones were spotted flying over them. Danish Prime Minister Meta Frederickson calling it the most serious attack on Danish critical infrastructure to date.

Several Danish airports, including Aalborg, were disrupted on Wednesday night by unauthorized drones, forcing flight diversions and temporary closures. This marks the second such incident in a week, following similar disruptions in Copenhagen and Oslo. The incidents come amid heightened European tensions over drone and fighter jet incursions, with France’s President Emmanuel Macron calling for a stronger response to potential Russian provocations.

  1. Don't worry Europe will have meetings to start talking about it. They love to have dinner parties. I'm sure at the end of the party they'll come to the conclusion that is America needs to come to the solution

  2. Weird they can't capture a single drone, also they come and go, maybe follow them to their home base.
