  1. Young guy like you would probably clear up on the dating scene in there.

  2. Come on, time to go! It’s alright I’ve had a word with them and they’ll take you.

  3. To be fair these places often have a minimum age of fifty.

And look on the bright side, not even two years to wait until you can go on a Saga cruise 😂

  4. Apply now, and there might be one available by the time you retire?

  5. I used to know someone who was in her early 20s, and her name was Martha, and she used to get mail to pre-plan her funeral.

  6. There’s a catch. The flat can only be sold back to them, at the original purchase price. At least if it’s the same as the place my mum had in Nottingham.

  7. 55 and above for these kinda of things – not long to go 😉

  8. As soon as I tuned 40 I started getting tena pad and erectile dysfunction ads on Facebook.

  9. Sounds like their a little premature.. that being said the early bird catches the worm and all that.
It’s never too early to stàrt planning retirement and what it could look like for you 🤷😂😂
You should just go along for the shits and giggles really.. then update us 👀

  10. It’s your post code, must have a lot of coffin dodgers living near you. I get the same.

  11. I live in a bungalow, all my junk post is retirement homes and meals on wheels. I’m 35.

  12. Did it come with a free Saga magazine and a voucher for 10% off and the mobility scooter shop?

  13. Do you live in a bungalow? Regardless of your age the junk mail to a bungalow is almost exclusively targeted at the retired crowd.

  14. Oh I get these all the time, despite being in my early 30s.

I live in a village where the average age is probably north of 60, so I think they just do a blanket mail to everyone.

  15. You can get housing in havering? If only I hadn’t been priced out.

  16. I’m 34, and I’d love to live in a retirement village 🤣 I might be in my thirties, but spiritually I am already retired.

  17. Okay Grandpa, let’s get you back to Park Rise now

  18. Make sure you get in early, to get your pick of the chairs that face out the window.

  19. There was a time when retiring at 50 was the norm. Now retiring at all is becoming a pipe dream. Sad.

  20. I used to get stuff like that, Sunlife over 50s plan letters and stuff. Turned out that somewhere (open register, maybe?), I was registered as being over 50 (I’m currently 36).

  21. I did hear an advert the other day for retirement and assisted living…available to the over 55s.

So shocked I had to check my pension provisions.

  22. I’d take them up on the offer, go for a viewing and make a day of it. I think it would be rude not to 😄

  23. Which are you gonna go for? Shared or private ownership?

  24. When I was in school, I wrote off for information to one of the retirement community general adverts we got posted as junk, and gave the school’s address.
I got my intended free Parker vector rollerball, with axa sun life etc, but forever after there was follow up after follow up from the retirement community – assuming it continued after I left 6th form haha

  25. Great not long to go for me then. Can’t wait.

  26. Reminds me of the old John Smiths advert with Peter Kay.

“Its ok. We’ve had a word with them, they’ll take you”

  27. There’s a 50+ development gone up near me recently. I’m 56 and part of me wants to move in there with my 7, 9 and 11 year old children just to see how it would go down.

  28. Honestly I’d actually apply. Waiting lists can be years long, better to be on it now if you think it might be a viable option for the future.

  29. Don’t worry, you don’t look one day over 85.

  30. Think of all the coach trips to Stately Homes. And a Blue Badge for your Vauxhall Mokka X. You don’t want pesky 40 somethings wandering around in gangs, lowering the tone…

  31. I found a suspiciously cheap and nice flat on Right Move the other week.

It took until the small print to mention that it was in a development for over 70s.

    Foiled again!

  32. I’m 38 and live in what used to be my grampys bungalow. All my neighbors are 80+ so I regularly get ‘pensioner post’.

At least 1 retirement home leaflet a month and several things about wills etc…

Enjoy the village magazine ‘the local answer’ though!
