This person had made some of my favorite movies and I was like, ‘Oh, this is great.’ He came up and he said, ‘Nice to meet you.’ I was like, ‘Oh, dude. Such a big fan.’ And then a photographer said, ‘Hey, can we take a picture of you guys.’”

But then, when they wanted to take a picture with you, I realized very quickly — I was like, ‘Oh, I don’t know if this is a good idea.’ He clearly clocked that I was like, ‘Oh, this is probably not a good idea.’ And I realized that this guy, his face is toxic. Going out into the world, people are having a visceral reaction to this person in terms of the bad choice they’ve made.”

  31. Cancelation’s not what it used to be, I feel like people here are focusing in on folks who’re universally reviled, I’m willing to bet it’s more someone who people would describe as “divisive.”

    I like the Shia Leboeuf suggestion, someone who’s been mired in controversy but still managed to keep working sounds like someone who might still manage an invite to a party.
