2. Yeahhh, but Google tells me it’s 27 years old, so that’s obviously more of a feat 🤷‍♂️

3. Not a lot of people know that the train was invented in Darlington

4. It was invented to get the fuck away from Stockton and Darlington

5. It was the first time anyone had wanted to go to Stockton or Darlington

7. Yes. Just to celebrate and make it properly modern our local railway is closed for Network Rail engineering works. I feel that brings us into the modern age

9. They’ve gone a bit over the top with the memorial there.

10. Worth listening to Radio 3 today. They are doing a special all day with a presenter on the train from the top of Scotland down to London then on to Cornwall. All the music is train based in some way.

11. It’s wild to think how a simple railway in County Durham kicked off a global revolution. Darlington really doesn’t get enough credit for that world-changing moment.
