There's no good reason for someone like Galloway to be in Russia at the moment. Visiting his old bosses, reminiscing over the past, planning for the future…?

  1. For someone who’s supposedly “anti-imperialist” he sure is obsessed with a certain imperialist nation.

  2. For an anti imperialist he does seem to be big into defending imperialism.

  3. Hope there isn’t a cat flap or he’ll escape nae bother.

  4. > Back in August, Galloway told The Herald he intends to make another political comeback by standing as a candidate in next year’s Scottish Parliament election.

    > The veteran parliamentarian leads the Workers Party and announced he will be the party’s second candidate on the list in Glasgow.

    > Speaking exclusively to The Herald following a party summit meeting in Scotland, Mr Galloway said his party plans to contest Glasgow Southside, the seat of Nicola Sturgeon, who is stepping down in May.

Oh joy, he’s back on the telly and entitled to make party political broadcasts, and demand equal representation in televised debates.

Just what I always wanted, another one of yesterdays men returning from the political wilderness to offer their unsolicited opinions.

  5. For someone who protests so much about “Genocide”, he seems rather comfortable with a country that is committing the biggest genocide seen since Bosnia.

  6. Looks like the BBC have a freshly trained panelist for the next Question time sorted.

Fair and balanced and all that…

  7. Are you the arbiter of all the destinations that meet your ‘good reason to visit’ criteria?

I’m planning to go to Kirkcaldy tomorrow, is that OK with you?

  8. This man repeated Russian propaganda on his podcast and claimed that 1.7 million Ukrainian soldiers have died and tried to pass it off as fact.
If 1.7 million Ukrainian soldiers have died then that’s about 1/3 of the entire male Ukrainian population eligible for combat.
The man is a walking propaganda machine for Russia.

  9. ‘Schrödinger’s unionist’ argues for British Unionism in 2014 and an independent Ireland. And lets not forget the wee trip to give Saddam a present. Even labour found him a wee bit nuts and thats saying something.

  10. >There’s no good reason for someone like Galloway to be in Russia at the moment

People have the right to visit countries you don’t like without running it past you first.

  11. It’s a weakness of the old skool leftie to be drawn to Russia. I used to wear a Lenin badge at school. More worrying of course is that there are actual adult (ish) people in Scotland going on about how great Mao was!

  12. I forgot he existed, the mad fucker. Wish all the has been politicians would just fuck off.

  13. Never liked the guy and just see him now as an opportunist. His pro Russian rhetoric and visits to Moscow , especially the victory day parade, makes him well sus. No wonder he has been marked for watching.

  14. In reality, he’s been arrested because the UK security services disagree with his politics and the fact that he supports peace with Russia.

  15. Is he (distantly) related to the Mango Mussolini?🤷🏻‍♂️😆

  16. Everyone seems to be missing the main issue here. I don’t like Galloway but detaining him under terrorism legislation is another scandalous use of lawfare by those twats in power.

  17. He’s fallen a long way since he testified before the US Senate on the Iraq War.
