The Ukrainian U19 futsal team started the European U19 Championship with a crushing victory: in the match against Moldova they raised the bar to 7:0, signaling the Ukrainians’ serious ambitions in the group stage of the tournament.
The Ukrainian team entered the tournament as Euro 2023 semifinalists, so expectations for the series of matches were high. In the previous edition, the blue-and-yellow side reached the semifinals, losing to Spain 2:3.
In Group A at Euro 2025 the Ukrainians will face Moldova, Italy, and the reigning continental champions – Portugal.
How the Moldova match unfolded
The opener came in the second minute: a precise finish by defender Vladyslav Kamets.
Two minutes later, Artem Klimchuk doubled the advantage, finishing the ball in the penalty area.
In the sixth minute the third goal was scored by Bohdan Tsap, and later Nazar Pershiv completed a brace, bringing the score to 5:0.
After the break, in the 23rd minute, Artur Khivovskyi received a second yellow card and left the team with a man down for a few minutes.
In the second half the Ukrainians also scored twice: Artem Malinovskyi and Rostyslav Rostkivskyi secured the victory with a final score of 7:0.
After the victory Ukraine topped Group A on points and goals scored. On Sunday, September 28, at 20:30, the match between Italy and Portugal will take place.

In the next round the Ukrainian junior team will play against the reigning European champions Portugal. The match is scheduled for Monday, September 29 at 20:30.
