As this year marks the 50th anniversary of China-EU diplomatic ties, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) will continue to promote exchanges and deepen cooperation between Chinese and European businesses, helping advance and solidify China-EU economic and trade cooperation, the council’s spokesperson Wang Guannan told a press conference on Sunday.

From September 8 to 13, Ren Hongbin, chairman of the CCPIT, led a delegation of Chinese entrepreneurs to France and Denmark. During the visit, events such as the China-France Trade, Investment and Innovation Cooperation Conference and a high-level China-Denmark business roundtable were held, facilitating discussions and negotiations between the business communities of both sides in areas such as the green transition, intelligent equipment and supply chain cooperation, Wang said.

The delegation also held talks with executives from more than 10 prominent European companies, including L’Oréal, Airbus, Novo Nordisk and Maersk. These companies expressed optimism about China’s economic development prospects and market potential, indicating a strong willingness to expand investment in China, Wang said.

Since the beginning of this year, the CCPIT has approved 373 plans for Chinese exhibition organizers to participate in events in European countries, with a planned exhibition area of 210,000 square meters. To date, 193 exhibition projects have been executed, covering a net exhibition area of more than 126,000 square meters, involving more than 6,900 participating companies from various industries, including machinery, transportation, information and communications and consumer goods.

At IFA Berlin 2025, one of the world’s largest trade fairs for consumer electronics and home appliances, which was held this month, the CCPIT organized 37 Chinese companies to showcase their products. Participating companies reported securing a large number of tentative orders, exceeding their expected targets, according to Wang.

In addition, the third China International Supply Chain Expo attracted nearly 90 well-known enterprises from 15 European countries, including France, Germany, the UK, Spain, Italy and Denmark. Leading companies such as Bosch, Siemens, PwC and Swire Group actively participated the event, demonstrating strong interest and willingness to collaborate with the Chinese market, the spokesperson said, noting that the expo has become a key platform for deepening industrial and supply chain cooperation between Chinese and European enterprises.

Branded economic and trade events hosted by the CCPIT, such as the Global Trade and Investment Promotion Summit and Business Conference on Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Development, attracted enthusiastic participation from European chambers of commerce in China, including the EU Chamber of Commerce in China, the British Chamber of Commerce in China and the French Chamber of Commerce in China, along with their member companies. These events have become practical platforms for promoting China-EU economic and trade cooperation, Wang said.

The CCPIT will continue to work closely with European business communities, adhering to the principles of mutual benefit and win-win cooperation, continuously strengthening communication and exchanges between both sides and making greater contributions to China-EU economic and trade cooperation, the spokesperson noted.
