[Music] One by one, dozens of delegates walk out of the UN General Assembly. Please order in hall. Applause and shouting rang out as Benjamin Netanyahu takes the podium. The Israeli prime minister doubled down on accusations of genocide in Gaza and using starvation as a tactic and told fellow world leaders that Israel is not done in Gaza yet. The final remnants of Hamas are holed up in Gaza City. They vow to repeat the atrocities of October 7th again and again and again, no matter how diminished their forces. That is why Israel must finish the job. That is why we want to do so as fast as possible. It was a moment of defiance for Netanyahu. He celebrated what he called a victory against Houthi rebels in Yemen and the devastation of Iran’s atomic weapons. Speaking to the Israeli hostages remaining in Gaza via loudspeakers set up to broadcast his message towards the strip, he said he would not rest until all the hostages are brought home. The speech comes as Israel’s isolation on the international stage is only growing with a number of Western powers, including France recognizing a Palestinian state. Amid accusations of war crimes and mounting pressure to end a war he has continued to escalate, the Israeli prime minister once again ruled out Palestinian statethood. Your disgraceful decision will encourage terrorism against Jews and against innocent people everywhere. It will be a mark of shame on all of you. Netanyahu’s farright allies have advocated annexing the West Bank to kill any viable prospect of an independent Palestine. Many have denounced the idea, including US President Donald Trump, who will be receiving the Israeli prime minister in Washington on Monday.
