Oregon and the city of Portland are suing President Donald Trump, in an attempt to block the administration from deploying U.S. armed forces or members of the National Guard to the state’s largest city.
Gov. Tina Kotek and Attorney General Dan Rayfield made the announcement at a joint news conference Sunday afternoon.
On Saturday, President Trump posted on the social media platform Truth Social that he had authorized troops to be sent into the city.
