A COMMUNITY charity is supporting refugees with a fundraising discount fashion show, writes Isabel Matthews.
Bromsgrove and Redditch Welcome Refugees (BRWR) has organised a catwalk event and sale of top quality and high street store outfits for women. Some of the discounts on items will be as much as 75 per cent.

The event will take place 2pm on October 18 at Bromsgrove Methodist Centre, on Stratford Road.

Tickets are available to buy £8 online or £9 on the door, All ticket sales will go to BRWR and will help support around 200 refugees from Syria, Afghanistan and Ukraine, who are now living in Redditch and Bromsgrove

Friendly volunteers are set to be at the event. They will help give practical assistance to those seeking shelter as they start their new lives away from their war-torn home countries

BRWR committee member Bob Jefford said the show was one of the charity’s main annual fund-raising events.

He added: “This is a great way for people in Redditch and Bromsgrove to show their support for this nation’s tradition of welcoming people who have been forced to flee often unimaginable horrors in their home town countries to seek sanctuary in our communities.”

“It’s also a great way to snap up some fabulous clothes at bargain prices and to help BRWR continue its important work.”
