2. It looked to me that perhaps did not kill them, but at least it trashed their ride.

3. Going by the directed explosion, I’d guess it was a claymore type mine (the russians have a copy that I forget the name of). It would explain why the single blast managed to get all passengers, if that is indeed the case.
