It’s wild that people look at this chart and not see inflation from 2020-2022; they see a slightly higher growth in some categories in 2025.
Oh, look. Biden installed January 2021. Green enery bill and
Inflation reduction act bill passed same year.
Don’t blame Trump
People commenting that prices rose under Biden are correct. However, prices were rising everywhere in the developed world mainly due to supply chain issues brought about by the pandemic, not factors related to any huge economic policy decisions. This is in contrast to current price trends that can be directly tied to tariffs.
The idea that grocery prices are only about 35% higher now than in 2019 is just completely bat-shit, bonkers crazy.
I don’t eat beef or lamb anymore because I can’t afford it. I’ve never seen such a huge jump in such little time. I’m still in shock over it.
Yea, that’s called inflation
Well according to the chart Alcohol is still low…🤣🤣🤣
I do not buy the supply chain story. Grocery chains and food producers alike have been posting record profits during that period.
It’s an orchestrated effort to fleece us.
Got to start producing my own food.
Fuck Trump
Wasn’t Pedonald supposed to take care of this?
I hate when graphs don’t start at 0. They’re misleading and most people don’t realize it. Yes, there were price increases, but this makes it look like prices are 5-6 times higher than before, whereas in reality they’re about 1.1–1.5 times what they were before.
According to this chart it has “reached” record highs most of the years in the past as well.
