In today’s polarized Western politics, there is hardly any consensual issue. One notable exception is the general perception of China as some kind of threat. Few would contest the notion that China poses a „challenge,“ is a „competitor,“ or is even an „enemy“ of the United States, Europe, and the transatlantic alliance. That is as far as the consensus goes, and where the debate begins: How do we deter China? Should we decouple or de-risk our economies? What is our role in defending Taiwan from Chinese aggression? And how should we assess the Trump administration’s China policy? We will discuss these questions and more with Dmitri Alperovitch at our upcoming breakfast discussion.
