It’s actually an extension of post-brexit shut yourself off from the world manana
Boris is suffering from talking out of his behind syndrome
Sounds similar to wait for the Sue Gray report, wait for the Met investigation, wait for this, wait for that.
People in glass houses and all that.
The irony. A man telling those who work from home that something is wrong with them. Where does Boris work? From bloody 10 Downing Street, where does he live? Same place!
Boris sharing the sentiments of his Billionaire Overlords with all the poors. How nice.
Try getting anything out of the DVLA and then tell me he’s wrong.
> The PM said: “I have to ask myself whether actually it is as productive as all that.
> “When I see institutions not delivering things like passports or driving licences in a speedy way – these things are quite expensive, it’s £150 to get a new passport – we want action.”
You’d hope there would be studies and data to support whether it’s “as productive as all that”.
It shouldn’t be left to what Boris might ask himself.
Sounds like he’s throwing WFH under the bus to excuse delays in some public services. Shame.
That’s not really your concern though is it?
That would be between themselves and their employers. Not the fucking government that lurches from crisis to crisis like an elephant with CJD.
Well he would be the expert on mañana culture. In my job I do more hours when working from home because I don’t get prompted to stop when I see everyone else has left for the day.
And again nhe’s not wrong. I just love how much this man annoys scoungers and the workshy. As long as benefit filth are cold, hungry & whining the government is doing something right.
WFH will be a passing fad as soon as employers realize that most people do not do well without in-office supervision.
And most employees will want to go back as soon as they realize career advancement and salary will be less for those who insist upon WFH perks.
Oh dear. Must have run some numbers and seen their donations from commercial landlords are down this quarter.
His option has literally no value or credence ~~any more~~.
The problem is NOT working from home. People have been working remotely for decades.
Always with these rich middle aged government ministers/business owners/upper management in the press whinging about how remote working is the problem.
It’s not remote working – it’s you.
You’re the leader – look at the business/department, identify the specific problems and come up with solutions. If people aren’t up to doing their job, get rid of them.
I struggle to believe anything from a man who claims he was ambushed by cake has been sacked twice for lying and can’t talk without sounding like a parrot on speed.
He’s teeing up his latest ‘other’ targets for Brexit’s failure. Blame the lazy metropolitan office workers.
Considering Boris’s interpretation of “working from home” involves drinking hard spirits with 50 mates, it’s not surprising he thinks it causes problems when others do it.
It’s important to note that he recognises that his fan base will more readily get behind him if he’s racist in the way he expresses things.
A man who works from home and who has been putting off resigning for weeks lashes out at a work from home manana culture…
Imagine making so much progress as a working society that we managed to create a benefit from the pandemic that could permanently change the depressing ‘office commute’ to a remote working lifestyle with mental health benefits, financial benefits and employees still remaining productive….and throwing it all away to bring everyone back to the way it was anyway.
The next few months are crucial. If we can’t shift to remote working lifestyles now then we never will.
There’s already a huge drop in fully remote roles advertised online and more and more businesses are forcing people back to the office. It’s such a fucking waste.
All this dangerous rhetoric about getting people ‘back to work’ at the office is the worst thing, the implication being that remote workers are lazy bastards who are skiving even though everything can still be monitored and traced at home and most people have targets that are still needing to be hit whether at home or not.
If the passport office is massively backlogged why isnt he asking Kevin Foster, the minister in charge, what the hell is going on and why hasnt he managed to make WFH work when most other businesses can?
Same with JRM. ‘Its costing the tax payer to keep civil service offices open’. Why havent you made efficiencies then, dickhead? If you have empty offices you clearly have efficiency opportunities.
Its not the workers, its the morons in charge.
No not really. No commute and not having to share grubby kitchens and toilets with others is a great benefit.
The issue with a lack of productivity stems from managerial failure to adapt to systems that support WFH or hybrid working.
Says one of the sloppiest, laziest, cunts in politics.
Dvla delays are caused by lack of home working and the IT systems. Covid ravaged their offices
They don’t want you to have the same perks they have. That’s all that makes them feel anything at all.
Where I work all the WFH people have quit over the last 24months, everyone has said the WFH replacements will 100% not be WFH workers. If you ask for WFH you are almost certainly not getting the job.
