Noticed a few USAF C17 GMII flying over my house (mid Ulster) in the last few months. This one (GMIII) has just taken off from Belfast international and flew right over.

Curious as to if anyone knows where it’s heading/what its transporting?

  1. Saw this coming in to land the other day… jaw dropping sight! Pity I was on the M2 at the time and couldn’t look as closely as I wanted.

  2. Does it have a flight history for Belfast departures?

At a guess, it’s assisting in Ukraine

  3. Aldergrove is often used as a refueling/stopover base for US military aircraft. Basically just because it is one of the furthest west (close to US) European NATO bases. If I were to guess it is probably heading Eastern Europe direction.

  4. It’s returning to its base at Wright-Patterson.

An FBO at Aldergrove has a refuelling contract with the DOD, hence the regular visits.

  6. Back to America. It could be landing at many locations in America, including military bases like: Joint Base Andrews, Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina; Travis Air Force Base, California; and Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington…. If I was to pick which one is more likely, the Joint Base Andrews would be my pick.

  7. Its going to bring Murica freedoms! to some natural resources rich Brown people.

  8. Aldergrove is a stopping point between North America and the middle east. Its probably heading back to a base in the states
