No, not another thread where all IT people boost with their wages. But one to advise all, talk about your wages with your co-workers and friends! I’ve done it since my second work year and it only helped me, co-workers and my friends to achieve higher wages.
Their is no downside.
Imagine you are earning less than your co-workers? Time to talk to your boss.
Image you are earning less than your friends? Time to move on to another employer.
Image you are earning more than your friends? Help them move to another employer or give them the courage to talk to their boss.
Image you are earning more than your co-workers? Help them with preparing for asking for a higher wage.
Yes, you maybe have 2.5K now and according to studies that is a lot. But that means dogshit if all your co-workers earn 3.5K.
Do not be fooled by extra-legal stuff, when you fall ill, that all dissapears. Bruto is very important for many things and even though higher netto looks nice at the moment, you’ll get fucked extra hard when something disastrous happens. Bruto is being used to calculate a lot of extra things like pension, sick-wages, vacation money, 13th month,… All extra-legal stuff falls out of these calculations. They are mostly traps for juniors.
Never pay extra for a higher leasecar with more options, never go for things like “you can pay for your car charger/bicycle/… over 5 years”. These are all lock-in methods. When you suddenly leave the company you suddenly need to pay to leave. Something HR casually forgets to tell you.
