Was this really a work event? Video shows Keir Starmer and several others chatting over a beer while indoor socialising was banned by Covid law

  1. Are they really still flogging this dead horse?

Starmer has explained that they had a pizza and beer because they had not eaten after a long day canvassing and planning the next days events in a constituency office.

The police have investigated and accepted that it was a work event.

Any reasonable person would accept that this is a work event. The Heil is desperate to save Johnson by throwing any old shit at everyone.

  2. If he genuinely ceased work for refreshment, then they restarted work, then it seemingly isn’t illegal. However if he did not restart work, then apparently people have been fined for that (builders finished work, then ate a pie together at a table, they were fined).
It depends if you believe him. I don’t believe him, I believe that like many people he chose to ‘bend’ the rules because he thought he could get away with it, and I think many, many people will have done that at some time. I don’t resent that he broke the rules as such, except that he is utterly obsessed by Boris’s own breaking of rules.

  3. This is the dailymail throwing a hissy fit having been called out over the Rayner story.

You can see the rags are throwing themselves behind the Tories in the run up to the elections.
