  1. That’s only a problem if you have a job or a business or care about the national economy. If you sit around whinging all the time, drinking stale beer in a spoons and do nothing with your life, then get upset because the Pole next door has a better life than you just because he worked hard and saved and planned ahead you’re more than happy to see these consequences. In fact they’re exactly what you voted for even if you prefer to pretend it was about sovereignty or immigration or whatever “reason” they’re clinging to today.

  2. Export from UK to EU almost did not decline. Import from EU to UK fell by 25%, probably replaced by the US and Asia. The journalist is just stupid and contradicts citations in his own article and Redditors in comments as usual read only the headline and post bollocks.

“We estimate that the new TCA trade relationship led to a sudden and persistent 25% fall in relative UK imports from the EU,” the paper says.

It adds: “In contrast, we find a smaller and only temporary decline in relative UK exports to the EU, but nevertheless a large and sustained drop in the extensive margin of exports, driven by the exit of low-value relationships.”
