How many times has this happened now?

  1. Before the end of the day on FOX, it’ll be the fault of Obama, Biden, antifa, woke, and Hunter Biden’s Laptop.

  2. Of course it’ll be the Dems fault for not allowing  6 of theirs to flip without a deal. Why won’t they just vote how the Republicans tell them and be Republicans already!?

  3. Democrats have enough votes to force the Epstein files to release. Republicans don’t want the government to be open because they don’t want Adelita Grijalva sworn in.

Pay attention this is going to be a very long shut down

  4. Hasn’t happen in 7 years since *check notes trump was president.

And also* check notes again it was the longest shutdown in American history.

Funnily enough trump said something along the lines of a government shutdown is because a president can’t govern (I don’t think he said it that coherently) but that was when there ALMOST was a shut down under Biden. To be clear there never was a shut down under Biden.

  5. Groundhog Day called, it wants its plot back! 🤦‍♂️ Seriously, can we just get a reboot with actual progress this time?

  6. last time it happened was during…

    *_checks notes_

    …Trumps’s first term

  7. And still successfully managed to blame it on the Democrats!

  8. Those Damned Democrats!/s

  9. One party wants to help people afford care. The other one does not.

  10. And that must mean they’re gobbling trumps knob and gonna tell us how much more nuclear winter we can expect

  11. Trump is spoiling for a fight. He doesn’t give a sh-t who it affects and this will continue for a long time. And it won’t end well.

  12. “We were given a mandate to shut down the government.”

  13. Democrats: Filibuster a spending bill that has 55 votes in favor of it.

Reddit: “Republicans shut down the government.”

If you didn’t want the government to shut down, blame it on the filibustering Democrats.

If you think the Democrats were right to force the shut down, then take ownership of it rather than blaming it on Democrats.

Just don’t put your lack of basics civics education on display and act like it’s a dunk on the other side.

  14. The entire shutdown nonsense only exists so that Republicans have a tool for blackmail, since they have nothing useful to offer for negotiating with. Meanwhile, responsible people just pay their fucking obligations.

  15. Ya know, honestly, I’m not sure why we keep putting them in charge of the whole government.

  16. I’m not so sure about that? Like if they were in charge why wouldn’t they just pass their budget and tell the dems to pound sand?

  17. It really is hard to blame the minority party when you control all of the leverage of power.  It’s even harder when you’ve been gleefully planning in the open to use the shutdown to permanently fire over 100,000 government employees. Or when the reason given for not coming to an agreement is because you wanted to kick people off of Medicare and Medicaid and end TAX CREDITS for people who buy insurance under the ACA, basically doubling the cost of their health insurance.

People aren’t stupid.  MAGA people are stupid, but once they start feeling the damage of the shutdown the GOP will, once again, fold. When they do they’ll say that the outrageous things that they claimed democrats wanted in the new CR (blatant lies like billions for illegal immigrant health care and sex change operations in Venezuela) aren’t in the CR that they agreed to and that therefore “they won”.

  18. Remember the longest government shutdown back in 2018? Who was in charge? Oh right, Republicans.

  19. They want Democrats to rescue them from their own insane right wing.

  20. It was inevitable.

This gives them further excuses to purge the government of anyone who might even THINK about being critical to Cheeto Benito.

Then replacing them later with Trumpists whose sole “qualification” is undying loyalty (as it certainly won’t be intelligence or competence).

They had to delay the plan a bit because of how incredibly unpopular DOGE and their cuts (and identity theft) were.

It’s all right there in Project 2025.

  21. Well the government shutdown under Obama and Clinton aswell so it’s not the end of the world. Dont worry the IRS is still open and working to wreck ur rectum

  22. I suppose it’s just a coincidence that every government shut down ends up being the fault of Republicans. For being “conservative“, they certainly have a penchant for chaos.
