This morning, during a national moment of silence, President Zelenskyy honored the memory of those who had given their lives for Ukraine’s freedom and independence at the Memorial on Independence Square.

14. He is literally a man of the people. He doesn’t see himself as being an elite while thousands of Ukrainian citizens have been killed and suffer the devastating impacts of war. This is a war that he did not initiate and a war he’s willing to stand by with his people to help defend Ukraine. There would have been so many other leaders that would have left their country to stay safe while letting their fellow countrymen and women perish.
