Sweden is so lovely! i love it 🇸🇪✨
I took my exchange student family for a scenic route through the nordic countries by train. That is how I discovered that Helsinki to Kiruna is pretty much nothing but forest. However, the rail trip from Kiruna to Narvik was spectacular. Coming out of the forests and driving along the side of an almost vertical mountain was such a difference. Of course, we saw very little on our ferry ride though Lofoten – the fog and rain was too thick..
Reverssed when driving from Trondheim to Bodo.
Or reverse it for driving north from Helsingborg to Lyngen or Lofoten without a break over the E6 and then spending all the time in Norway.
Sweden. The land of pines and bathtub alcohol.
Now. Feel free to give me a an good ol ass whooping dear Swedes.
The scenery and nature is totally different. Common are the latitude and the languages.
The big forests of Sweden have their charm, and there are massive and wide open alpine vistas. Just not much is seen from any train – unless you take it from Kiruna to Narvik – as it’s remote, harder to access, and wild (all part of the charm).
For short term visual delight, few areas in the world will be the Norwegian fjords. They – and the surrounding mountains – are second to none.
