Every decade the failure to deal with these issues means police behaviour and fear of them escalates. And then when it boils over there is another dead young person, thousands of pounds worth of damage and lower trust in the police than before.
It’s clear that they can’t prioritise this, they don’t have the budget for deeper investigations and they can’t afford to increase their entry standards and maintain numbers so this will continue.
everyone already knew this i guess some reason panorama made some room in the budget this year for a special met episode
Hidden?
oh lord what people have been saying about the met for longer than my 40 years on earth is a shock because?

The Met needs to be disbanded, and replaced by a national police force.
“hidden” 😂
We’ve been having the same conversations about the Met since the 1960s at least.
When will it be time to accept that it is an entirely rotten institution, entirely beyond reform, and disband it?
Perhaps when 91 percent of gang rapes of children are committed by Pakistani gangs and allowed to get away with it; and you see this on a daily basis; it may affect your views
If anyone ever does this in the NHS whatever remnants of public support are left rn will be gone.
Watching the panorama episode now. It’s a tough but very unsurprising watch. Just confirms what everyone already knows
Oh god there’s a hidden one as well??
Charing Cross Police Station was also in the news in 2022 for being found to have a rampant culture of homophobia, racism and sexism. From what I remember (I may be wrong) no action was taken or any real investigation by the police despite what was found at the time, and here we are 3 years later, in the same location, with the same problems. Colour me surprised.
and on it goes. Police having links to the Far Right is a known fact. Not just the Met either. Same in the Army. Although this is sensational and will raise many an eyebrow-in a month it will be business as usual.

This might sound bad but I expected a lot worse
The worst part of the video is the woman officer overreacting. You’re a police officer, “That’s what they said” should be on the tip of your tongue. It shows that he was skeptical, she was narrow minded
If you have a job available that already contains the world’s biggest bellends you’ll ever meet, where you’re given excessive power that’s open to abuse because of no accountability, where the culture encourages that toxic behaviour, where they frequently lie and arbitrarily punish people because they got out the wrong side of bed that day, what sort of candidates are you consistently going to attract?
There’s very little hope saving the institution. The majority of people who want that role, who know the above before they apply, are the wrong people for the job already.
> “God, we’d so lose our jobs right now,” PC Neilson added.
Honestly mate, I think you needn’t worry
You would find this behaviour anywhere in the UK at the moment so no surprise it’s prevalent in the Met Police. Nothing story as far as I’m concerned. It’s rife.
I’m shocked! Shocked!
…
Well, not that shocked
The BBC is one to talk.
The comments on the video make me lose faith for humanity.

“Hidden”.
Idk, have you ever interacted with police?
Full background vetting and no more Freemasons in the Police force.
How was this person who is a journalist able to get a “job” within the Police?
‘hidden’ 🙄
I really hate the way Brits ‘deal’ with issues like this. Put someone new in place, come up with a useless plan, tick some boxes, wait half a decade, accept applause, measure impact, no impact? Shuffle some job titles and rinse and repeat. Nothing ever changes here for the better.

Hidden? The [2023 Casey](https://www.met.police.uk/SysSiteAssets/media/downloads/met/about-us/baroness-casey-review/update-march-2023/baroness-casey-review-march-2023a.pdf) Review [found the Met to be institutionally racist, misogynistic, and homophobic](https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2023/mar/21/metropolitan-police-institutionally-racist-misogynistic-homophobic-louise-casey-report). Anyone paying attention knows it’s rotten.
I can’t believe it
