Just got back home (to the usa 🙄🙄🙄) from Sweden with utter depression. Visiting Sweden has taught me what a country ought to look like and how to operate. Swedish people? Kind and thoughtful. I particularly noticed that the men here are don’t operate on these “macho” standards and are completely themselves and respectful.

No homelessness (barely) no cracktivity????? Oh my god i’m stunned. i’m FLABBERGASTED!!!! i wanted to drop to my knees in praise. how fucking fantastic and magical?!?!?! The social infrastructure in sweden cannot get enough praise. i mean god damn!!!!!

the nature…incredible, beautiful, gorgeous. i got to pick some mushrooms!! they were delicious 🙂 i’ve never seen beard moss until i went to the swedish forest. maybe becuase the atmosphere in Los Angeles is ASS

My best friend who is a swede and lives in sollentuna took me around town. I got to visit his office space. I’ve never seen a more incredible office in my life. Holy shit. guys what the heck do yall got going on?!?!?!?

the streets? clean, pristine, impeccable. didn’t smell like ass and shit.

accessible swings??? love how everyone is in mind.

that’s it. im done. i’m moving. i liked being treated like a human being with human rights and everyone around me being treated the same. searching for job now. 😊😊❤️❤️

  1. It’s a great country, but not without its problems. I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else as a regular joe.

  2. Welcome! We love it too!

Just be aware for the thick winter darkness

  3. You’re right we are pretty well of, far from perfect but it works it sure is night and day compared to america
Glad you enjoyed your trip to sweden and you’re welcome here again but if you want to visit somewhere else like Sweden i’d recommend basically all sorrounding countries to Norway, Finland, Denmark, Iceland, they are all pretty good

  4. Gave you an upvote just because Örebro castle. Örebro is my hometown.

  5. Glad you liked it. I love my country, but everything isn’t perfect.

Some Americans get annoyed that it’s so hard for them to learn Swedish since people switch to English as soon as they realize you speak English. So they don’t get to practice the language as much as needed.

  6. Thanks for the praise 🙏 as the swede that i am it sounded good that you liked it here.
Its not perfect but if u move to here it will be a little bit better😊
You are very much Welcome 😁

  7. If we were in control of the Norwegian wealth fund it probably would be. Still pretty great though.

  8. Agreed! The Swedes are self-deprecating, introspective and generally humble so your comments will not land without pushback however I think deep down the majority gets it. Welcome back!

  9. We Swedes takes so much for granted. When I visited LA and San Francisco I was shocked in the other direction…

We don’t have it as good as we used to have. I preferred Sweden pre 2006 right wing trend of lower taxes and worse welfare state, solidarity was still a common word. Now it’s a lot more individualistic. And of course segregation has brought divides in big parts of society.

That said, it’s a lovely country. I am so extremely lucky to be born here.

  10. and now you know why it is so sad that people are here, destroying it…

  11. You might say that. Glad you enjoyed your stay. Welcome back in January for hardmode.

  12. The Nordics is peak. Doesn’t mean It can be better, but still

  13. Glad you enjoyed it! Please move here! Your energy will enrich us! 😊

  14. Glad you liked it, it was once perhaps the best.

  15. American here. There are no utopian countries. I’ve followed this sub long enough to know that Sweden isn’t one of them.

But compared to our home country? It may as well be. And I live in a nicer part of the country than you do (southern Utah).

If nothing else… just living in a country where public life is not constantly being held hostage by religion… sounds like a paradise to me.

  16. Things are a little bit too big in America, I guess. More human scale here.

  17. Good luck, i hope you make it over!

The US has some amazing nature as well, i have visited the grand Canyon once and its the closest I’ve had to a religious experience. Its one of the many things which make me sad about the way things are going, who knows when it will feel OK to visit again and explore more.
