Back in January, the three “boys” who appeared in court charged with violent disorder around the girl who was attacked and pushed under a Dart in April 2021 were bailed.

One, who was additionally charged with assault causing harm was sent to the Circuit Court as the case was too serious to stay in the Children’s Court. This trial was due to be called in March (according to the Indo https://m.independent.ie/irish-news/courts/teen-accused-of-knocking-girl-head-first-under-dart-to-face-trial-in-adult-court-41252361.html) Nothing has been heard of it since.

The other two delightful young gentlemen were supposed to appear in court this month, but again there’s been complete radio silence ever since.

Surely this hasn’t been quietly dropped?

  1. Takes ages for trials (where accused isn’t remanded in custody) due to covid backlog, when no jury trials were held for months on end.
