I already know I’m going to be worse off on UC and I’m absolutely dreading being migrated over to it. It feels like the government just want to run ill and disabled people into the ground by making our lives even harder. My benefits were stopped last year due to delays with Royal Mail and the stress of it caused me to attempt to take my own life. Knowing the situation is totally out of my control and can happen anytime is horrendous.
Somehow is a cabinet of slime with priti patel, sunak and mogg – the mass of sloughing puss and rot that is therese coffey might most malignant and cruel of the bunch.
Side note: never realised they basically punish people by cutting off any benefits for 4 weeks (or longer)… seems incredibly cruel
If I was on UC I’d lose about £300 a month compared to my ESA currently. That’s not including any forced debt the government gives me by changing my payment dates or worse by delays.
I’m on the backburner of UC due to the nature of zero hour contracts but I still hate having to partially rely on it some months. UC isn’t meant to help people. Merely punish the peasents for daring to use the safety net. DWP are useless tossers who don’t give a fuck and only care about ticking boxes. Hell, I won’t be surprised if one day, they suddenly decide i owe them cash or kick me off the system because it’s busy at work then the next month, i have little work and they decide that I am entitled to fuck all because zero hour contracts go up and down every single week.
Universal Cruelty. Money’s made up. Agree on what the prices for necessities should be, keep them like that and then add more money in and give it to everyone on a regular guaranteed basis.
Applied for UC two year ago cos we couldn’t afford anything. We now owe them all that money back bc of a stupid mistake they made. A mistake that I literally called them out on and they still kept sending us money, which wekept bc we fucking needed it.
Losing ESA is scary tho…my partner is disabled but needs help finding work that he can do. It took 8 fucking months for him to get £60 a week… That’s all they gave him for all of his bill rent utilities. We only wanted him to get a job coach but to do that, you need to grovel for money for months on end for scraps. Now I’m guessing there is no fucking support for disabled people looking for work. All we need now is for PIP to be fucked with too. Disgusting.
